As an SAP Business partner, we are often asked the same questions: Is SAP Business One cloud-based? Does it support SaaS (Software as a Service)? Is SAP Business One available on the cloud? And if not, then why?

So, is SAP Business One cloud based? The answer is yes and no.

Firstly, what do we understand by the term cloud-based software? In layman’s terms, a cloud software is a type of technology that has been based off a network that makes use of the internet to perform common tasks.

In the case of cloud-based software, you will execute services from the internet itself, rather than running it on your personal machine or devices.

SAP Business One is not cloud-based in the strictest sense of the word but rather, is cloud-ready.

SAP Business One is both an on-cloud and on-premise ERP solution, which allows the companies to run their business anytime, anywhere. There are several benefits of both these scenarios.

You have the option to choose between two deployment models when implementing SAP Business One. You can either choose an on-premise solution, in which your deployment is installed locally on the servers and hardware of your company. Or you can choose the cloud option, in which case the solution is managed by an SAP’s partner.

The flexibility of being able to choose between the on-premise or cloud options of SAP Business One lets you choose the solution that best helps your business grow. Since both have their benefits and drawbacks, understanding each in a way that’s right for your unique business is going to ensure you’re going with the best option.
